We have consultancy and business start-up services and we also work to match partners with students for internships and work placements. This allows our students to gain real-world experience while gaining credit towards their degree and gives businesses talented, young, keen students to help with projects. We have around eighty businesses that we have worked with to date.
ANZAM - Australian & New Zealand Management Conference
4-7 December 2018
Hosted by Massey University, the theme of this year's conference is 'Managing the many faces of sustainable work'.
The demands from stakeholders for work and organisational forms that are financially, environmentally and socially sustainable are unlikely to diminish. This conference will bring together local and international academics and practitioners to share evidence and insights on this and a host of other pertinent issues.
Our Lives Online
A regular series of events examining the impact of the internet and social media on our lives. Topics covered include online abuse, artificial intelligence and the evolution of online humour. Designed to be informal and accessible, the Our Lives Online series aims to stimulate discussion and start conversations.
Research Translation Competition

This innovative competition, unique to Massey University, asks business academics to distil an academic paper into a six-minute presentation. Entrants are judged on the quality of their research, its usefulness to the business community and their ability to explain their findings to a non-academic audience in a clear and engaging way. Five finalists will present their work at a free public event.
Stephen is a professor of strategy and enterprise. He is widely published and has secured in excess of $1m in grant, project and research funding.
His research focus is on marketing and enterprise development.
Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor
Jo’s academic background is in strategic management and human resource management. She joined Massey University as Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor in August 2017, having previously worked in roles in the UK such as Academic Dean at Coventry University in London and Director of Learning and Teaching in the Business Faculty, University of Greenwich.
Head, School of Accountancy
Fawzi is a highly regarded accountancy researcher, with specific research and teaching interests in financial reporting and accounting education. He has expertise in professional accountancy and has served on numerous professional boards and committees.
Chief Executive Officer, School of Aviation
Ashok has been a training captain with Indian Airlines and Gulf Air and has over 12,500 hours of airline jet flying experience. He has held corporate positions with IATA and Gulf Air and is a frequent international presenter and consultant.
Head, School of Communication, Journalism and Marketing
Stephen was listed in the top 1% of all communication scholars globally from 2012-2016. An award-winning and widely published scholar, his research expertise is in immigrant cultural adaptation, religion and communication, statistics, and conflict.
Head, School of Economics and Finance
David had 17 years of banking experience prior to moving to Massey at the beginning of 1994. His personal research interests include bank performance and balance sheet structure, bank asset and liability management, credit risk in banking, payment systems, international expansion of banks, and other issues in banking management.
Massey University’s Auckland campus is in Albany on the North Shore of Auckland. Massey Business School departments are based in the Massey Business School Building (School of Accountancy), Atrium Building Level 1 (Institute of Executive Education and Enterprise) and Quadrangle Building B (all other schools).
Massey University’s Manawatū campus is in Palmerston North. The Massey Business School offices and teaching spaces are predominantly in the Business Studies building (which has ‘Business Studies West’ and ‘Business Studies Central’ wings).
Massey University’s Wellington campus is centrally located near the city’s artistic and entertainment quarters of Cuba Street and Courtenay Place in the heart of Wellington. The Massey Business School offices and teaching spaces are predominantly in Building 5.
