The UK Music Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony was staged at London's Alexandra Palace on 16th November where Mark Radcliffe and co-host Mark Ellen presented a special and extended show backstage featuring special guests from the ceremony.

The latest legends of British rock to be inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame this year are Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Joy Division/New Order, Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath, The Who, The Kinks and John Peel.

The show featured some remarkable performances and unique collaborations from artists such as:
Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath
The Pretenders paying tribute to The Kinks
A Bob Dylan tribute performed by Alanis Morissette
New Order performing the Joy Division classic, 'Love Will Tear Us Apart'
A super group featuring Slash playing in honour of Jimi Hendrix.

John Peel received 2005's Honorary Membership of the UK Music Hall of Fame in acknowledgement of his exceptional contribution to British music.

Artists are selected for induction by the UK Music Hall of Fame Steering Group - a panel comprising over 60 respected artists, music journalists, broadcasters and music industry executives.

Last year's Induction Ceremony saw The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Bob Marley, Elvis Presley, Queen, Cliff Richard & The Shadows, The Rolling Stones, U2 and Robbie Williams become the inaugural members of the UK Music Hall of Fame. The highly respected founder of Island Records Chris Blackwell was awarded Honorary Membership for services to the music industry.

Radio 2's Dermot O'Leary hosted the climactic Induction Ceremony with Mark Radcliffe broadcasting live from backstage. You can watch the show on Channel 4 on Thursday 17th November.
