Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion

Welcome. Please note that this page is NOT for challenging the outcome of deletion discussions or to address the pending deletion of any page.

Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in restoring pages or files that were uncontroversially deleted via proposed deletion, under certain speedy deletion criteria (such as maintenance deletions or rejected Articles for creation drafts), or in deletion debates with little or no participation other than the nominator. This page is also intended to serve as a central location to request that deleted content be userfied, restored as a draft or emailed to you so the content can be improved upon prior to re-insertion into the mainspace, or used elsewhere (you may also make a request directly to one of the administrators listed here). This means that content deleted after discussion—at articles for deletion, categories for discussion, or miscellany for deletion among other deletion processes—may in some cases be provided to you, but such controversial page deletions will not be overturned through this process. Copyright violations and attack pages will not be provided at all.

This page is only for requesting undeletion of articles or files which have already been deleted. If the article you are concerned about is still visible, but has a warning message (template) at the top, please do not post here, but follow the instructions in the template or on your talk page. Please do not request that articles deleted under speedy deletion criteria A7, G4, G5, G11 or G12 be undeleted here.

Note that requests for undeletion are not a replacement for deletion review. If you feel an administrator has erred in closing a deletion discussion or in applying a speedy deletion criterion, please contact them directly. If you discuss but are unable to resolve the issue on their talk page, it should be raised at Wikipedia:Deletion review, rather than here.

Instructions for special cases

Chris Ernesto

Hello, I would like to inquire as to the reason(s) my page was deleted, and ask that it be reinstated. I attempted to ask the person who apparently removed the page, Zzyzx11, but was unable to do so. The content on the page is 100% accurate and everything is sourced. I have articles published in peer-reviewed journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine, and have dozens of antiwar articles that were published on various news sites. I'd be happy to remove anything that isn't 100% verifiable. I created this page to help give credibility to the antiwar group I co-founded and to assist my business which helps provide affordable housing to people in low income neighborhoods. Thanks for the consideration, and I'll be happy to offer any other information necessary to help get the page reinstated. Regards, Chris Ernesto (username: LCutler43) —LCutler43 (talk) 19:06, 10 May 2018 (UTC)

@Zzyzx11:

Did you not read the Articles for Deletion debate? —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 19:39, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
Or WP:Autobiography? —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 19:40, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
Yeah, while this does theoretically qualify for restoration here as a soft deletion I'm not going to restore a page which the creator admits is an autobiography designed to promote a campaign group and a business. That's essentially the opposite of what Wikipedia articles are supposed to be used for. I suggest reviewing WP:COI, WP:NPOV and WP:BIO. Somebody else can decide to restore it but I'll look to send it straight back to AfD. Hut 8.5 20:06, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
For the record, I was not the one who actually deleted the page,[1] nor was I ever contacted directly by the OP/original author before.[2] In any case, I agree that this article does not comply with the WP:COI, WP:NPOV and WP:BIO policies and guidelines. Zzyzx11 (talk) 09:35, 11 May 2018 (UTC)
Not done. I won't restore it either. The AFD discussion, limited as it is, is sufficient to treat this as non-restorable to main space. I could restore it to draft space if there's a possibility that it can be improved to meet Wikipedia's inclusion criteria, but in the state it was in when it was deleted, there's no way an WP:AFC article like that would be accepted for publication. ~Anachronist (talk) 20:56, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
@Anachronist: If you would restore the article to draft status I would look to make improvements. As I mentioned on Orangemike's talk page, I didn't write the article, a person named Sophia Jones did, but she didn't know how to post it on Wikipedia, so a friend did the work. After the article was deleted it was brought to my attention, so I will attempt to make the improvements - any suggestions are appreciated. LCutler43 (talk) 00:43, 17 May 2018 (UTC)LCutler43
@LCutler43: I have restored the article to Draft:Chris Ernesto on the condition that you and any of your associates will adhere to WP:COI guidelines and edit it only in draft space, and that you will submit it for review, and let an uninvolved reviewer decide whether it should be published on Wikipedia. I placed a button to submit for review at the top. Please read Wikipedia:Golden rule for a brief overview of what's expected before an article about you is accepted. ~Anachronist (talk) 03:59, 17 May 2018 (UTC)
@Anachronist:, thanks, I will work to clean it up based on your suggestions. I noticed that all the publications (Alzheimer's and antiwar) were removed along with their associated sources - was that by design or can they also be restored and cleaned up? LCutler43 (talk) 20:13, 20 May 2018 (UTC)LCutler43
I'm uninvolved in the content of the article. You'd have to examine the article history, figure out who did what, and take it up with other editors. ~Anachronist (talk) 05:48, 21 May 2018 (UTC)

Steve Laury (page deleted in error?)

Deleted in error —BrassRing (talk) 03:32, 20 May 2018 (UTC)

Greetings...I've known Steve Laury for over 35 years. He is very much alive, well and performing. He is understandably distraught that his Wikipedia entry has been deleted. Why? Certainly neither he nor I know this.

I therefore respectfully request that you please restore this page.

Peace,

The petitioner has been blocked (by me) as an undisclosed paid editor. However.... upon closer examination, Passion (Steve Laury album) contains an unsourced claim of charting in Billboard, which, if true, would qualify for inclusion under WP:MUSICBIO #2. Even if not true, he has multiple albums released under the Denon Records label, which would qualify for inclusion under criterion #5. These were listed in the deleted article. Therefore, I believe the article should be restored and revised appropriately to indicate notability. I'm willing to do this. @JzG: any objection? ~Anachronist (talk) 15:50, 20 May 2018 (UTC)

@Accesscrawl: Not done. For one thing, articles deleted in accordance with WP:A7 are ineligible for restoration by request here. You'd have to discuss it with the deleting admin, Anthony Bradbury (talk · contribs). Secondly, WP:OTHERSTUFF that might exist on Wikipedia is not a reason to keep an article; each stands or falls on its own merits. If those other articles are unfit for keeping, they should be deleted also. And finally, the main difference between the deleted article and those other two is that the deleted one failed to make any credible assertion of significance; that is, it didn't say why the subject is important enough to merit an article. Therefore it qualified for deletion under WP:A7. ~Anachronist (talk) 20:18, 22 May 2018 (UTC)

User talk:Bfpage/Following me around

Contains important editor conduct involving Barbara (WVS)/Bfpage, Jytdog and myself. The page shows restrictions that were made with the guidance of the late Kevin Gorman. It was also recently used in a WP:ANI case: Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/IncidentArchive979#Barbara (WVS)'s editing of medical and anatomy articles. Deleting it is similar to deleting past ANI cases on Barbara (WVS). Of course, an editor can't be forced to keep a subpage they don't want to keep, which is why I was never fond of the page being made in her user space to begin with. But perhaps it can be moved to my user space or there is some other remedy? —Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 17:00, 23 May 2018 (UTC)

So, yeah, we can disregard this request to undelete. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 17:13, 23 May 2018 (UTC)
I would just as soon have an admin take a look at what was there, and if there is nothing relevant to the history described in the OP, to confirm that and leave it undeleted, but if there is, to undelete. Jytdog (talk) 17:58, 23 May 2018 (UTC)

  • It is a record of a discussion between Flyer and Barbara. It appears as though all the material in there has been copied from where ever the discussion was originally held, and so the material would be available in Wikipedia's normal history records. I can't see a reason to have the page undeleted. To make things easier for everyone, though, I have temporarily copied the contents to here. SilkTork (talk) 00:17, 24 May 2018 (UTC)
No, Jytdog and SilkTork, she created a subpage just for that argument and took to replying to me on that subpage, which I didn't like because I knew that she could have the subpage deleted at any time. So I kept replying on her talk page while she replied on the subpage. She did copy and paste some stuff from her talk page to the subpage, though, yes. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 21:46, 24 May 2018 (UTC)
The entire page is here at the moment, and I will leave it there for seven days. If you wish to make a copy you can do so, though my suggestion would be to leave it be. SilkTork (talk) 22:07, 24 May 2018 (UTC)
As noted above, I have a copy of it somewhere on my computer. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 05:13, 25 May 2018 (UTC)
In that case, no problem, I'll remove the copy, and this request can be closed. SilkTork (talk) 22:06, 26 May 2018 (UTC)

  • Main objection is that it smells like spam and the author almost certainly has an undeclared CoI. Restored with the greatest reluctance to draft:yandi Nigeria. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 17:01, 26 May 2018 (UTC)

We're not going to reopen the WP:SNOW-closed WP:Articles for deletion/John Moorfield. You have been told multiple times on your talk page about WP:Notability and the AfD explains quite thoroughly that Moorfield is indeed notable per Wikipedia's standards. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 20:52, 26 May 2018 (UTC)

  • X mark.svg Not done – this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Vikram Sakhalkar, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user Sandstein (talk · contribs). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. Hut 8.5 10:06, 27 May 2018 (UTC)
