Sanne Vloet (/
Sanne Vloet was born in Switzerland to Dutch parents. She lived in Zimbabwe until she was six years old (her parents worked in a hospital) and then moved with her parents and brother to the Friesian village of Donkerbroek, Netherlands. She grew up and lived there until she was eighteen.
Before modelling she was a successful gymnast. While auditioning for Holland's Got Talent, she was discovered by a model scout at the age of 14. She said: "From an early age, I did acrobatics, trained a lot in Drachten and also participated in competitions. One day, friends signed up for the television program 'Holland's Got Talent'. At first I did not want to, but in the end they persuaded me and together with a friend I did an acrobatic act " Immediately after the broadcast she received a message through social media from a model scout in Amsterdam.
She continues: "I was only fourteen, but I was so curious that I went to Amsterdam anyway. After a nice conversation and some test shoots it all started. Totally unexpected, because I would never have been asked for this." "I was very motivated, I still am." In addition to finishing high school in Oosterwolde, Sanne started working part-time as a model. "When I turned eighteen, I started working full-time as a model. I moved to Paris, where I lived for six months. Then I moved to New York, where I still live with pleasure."
Sanne said her family is really supportive about her modelling career. She explained: "They’ve been really supportive from from the beginning. I lived quite far from Amsterdam and they would always bring me there [to the agency]. Sometimes my mother was more into it than me. I have one brother, he’s 2 years younger. We grew up really normal/ordinary in the countryside — everybody bikes to school. The place where I’m from — it has nothing to do with fashion, so everybody’s really excited to see what I’m doing".
When she was 15 she was applying for a job in a supermarket, and she thought she might attend university in Amsterdam to study social sciences and business. But after being discovered on “Holland’s Got Talent” in 2009, her life changed pretty drastically. “The fashion industry is totally different from how I thought it would be,” she said. “Everything is so last-minute, changing every second. I wasn’t really used to that.”
She also said: "I remember when I was 15 and I had an interview for a job in a supermarket. I was really nervous. And now, if I have to do an interview — because for castings, we do them every day — it’s becoming normal and I’m getting more confident. You learn how to represent yourself".
She didn't always wanted to become a model earlier in life. She explained: "No, not really. I was always a really small girl. That’s what’s really weird: I went through my growth spurt really late. And my focus was more on sports. I was really competitive with it".
Sanne Vloet speaks fluent Dutch and English, however when speaking English she has a Dutch accent.
Sanne Vloet has a channel on YouTube since December 2017. A year later she has a fanbase of more than 400.000 subscribers (and counting). Her first vlog was made in Shanghai at the Victoria Secret Show. She makes content about beauty, fashion, holidays, travel, food, her life as a model and more.
Sanne Vloet started working as a full-time model at the age of 18 she moved to Paris and lived there for a short while. Since a few years she resides in New York City. She also stays in contact with her family and friends in The Netherlands, where she also has her own place in Amsterdam to come home to when she visits her homecountry.
A lot of training precedes all those fashion shows and photo shoots. Healthy eating is also part of her daily life. In early 2018 during an interview she said: "It's a lifestyle for me. Because I travel a lot and often go from one jet lag to another, it is very important that I maintain myself well. I train four or five times a week and I pay attention eating well and healthy". As a true foodie (lover of food), Sanne likes to eat out with her friends in her spare time. "I have a lot of Dutch friends in New York that I like to go out with. In addition, I recently started making Youtube videos [December 2017], in which I share my travel experiences, but also tell about food and beauty".
Sanne Vloet has a partner who she is dating since late 2017. Before she never really had a boyfriend and was annoyed by people always asking why. She explained: “I don’t know why I haven’t had a boyfriend. I was always hanging out with my friends and I never really found the right person. I also traveled a lot [for work] and once I met someone we couldn’t really stay in touch”.
In 2019 Sanne Vloet will focus on her health coach education and several projects beside her modelling career.
Standing at a statuesque five foot, eleven inches, with blonde hair and blue eyes, Sanne Vloet (sah-neh vloot) began consistent print and runway work. Her ‘big break’ came in 2014, when she was confirmed to walk in the Oscar de la Renta show at New York Fashion Week.

Sanne Vloet (sah-neh vloot) likes the variety of catwalk shows and photo shoots she is doing. She said: "It is both so different. On the catwalk I really get an adrenalin kick, of all the lights and the loud music. Shows are often organized at very special locations. During a photo session, you can show more of yourself and you are creatively involved with the whole team". Sanne trains a lot for shows and photo shoots. Healthy eating is also part of her daily life.
Sanne Vloet thinks traveling is one of the best things about her work. In early 2018 she mentioned: "Some jobs are very last minute and then it is possible that you are working at a completely different location two days later." She sees many beautiful places, but her most special location so far is surprising. She said: "You would think those pearly white beaches with bright blue sea water. These are also beautiful locations, but the shoot that made the most impression on me was one for Ralph Lauren's winter campaign in Finland". "We stayed there for three days. It was beautiful: there was a lot of snow and we all slept in glass igloos. We worked a full day and the other days we did a lot of fun things, for example we made a trip with sled dogs". Besides the fact that it was Sanne her most beautiful location she visited for work, it was also her toughest job. "It was at least ten degrees below zero and we had to pose in the snow, in evening gowns".
The 2015 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show was at Lexington Avenue Armory on November 10, 2015 in New York City. Sanne Vloet wore a dusty rose floral ensemble and was In "A Portrait of an Angel" segment of the show while The Weeknd sang. Her outfit was said to resemble a cape. To the after party she wore a sparkling gold gown. Her backstage secret was "to eat a lot of fruit and sleep well." She was in Miami when she got the call she was cast in the Fashion Show. She says she did a lot of pilates and yoga to get in shape for the catwalk.
For the 2016 show, Sanne wore an all red floral combination in the Mountain Romance segment of the show. Her screentime was also one of the top five longest in that segment. During the Secret Angels segment, she wore a black lingerie set underneath a translucent black jacket.
For her third show, Sanne wore one outfit in the Goddesses segment of the show in Shanghai. The outfit had a tan bodysuit beneath a pale blue dress and custom-made wings with hand-sculpted birds created by Kirk Maxson.
