Rasoul Yunan (Persian: رسول یونان, born 1969 in a village near Urmia Lake, West Azerbaijan) is an Iranian poet of Iranian Azerbaijani descent. He is primarily a Persian poet but is also a translator and writer of Persian literature and Azerbaijani literature both. His genre includes playwright, short story, dastan and modern poetry.
Contemporary Persian and Classical Persian are the same language, but writers since 1900 are classified as contemporary. At one time, Persian was a common cultural language of much of the non-Arabic Islamic world. Today it is the official language of Iran, Tajikistan and one of the two official languages of Afghanistan.
