Rampurhat railway station is one of the busiest railway stations of Eastern Railway Zone. Coming under Top 100 booking Station in India .Among the nine 'A' category (revenue 6-50 Crore) railway stations of Indian Railways in West Bengal Rampurhat Junction is one of them and the only "A" Category railway station of Birbhum District. The station is under Howrah Division & it is 207 kilometres (shortest route) away from Howrah Junction. This station is famous for its connectivity with the neighbouring states and also for the Hindu pilgrims visiting to Tarapith Maa Tara Temple which is just 9 km away from the station.
