Jafari et al. state that "One of the most important [groups of] heterocycles in medicinal chemistry are quinazolines[,] possessing [a] wide spectrum of biological properties like antibacterial, antifungal, anticonvulsant, anti-inflammatory, anti-HIV, anticancerous and analgesic activities.
