Miss Bonaire is a national beauty pageant in Bonaire.
Traditionally, Miss Bonaire send the winner at Miss Universe in 1967–1999. In 1973–1983 Miss Bonaire winner competed at Miss Intercontinental pageant. Since 2000s Bonaire did not compete at International pageants. In 2010 Bonaire declared to return at International pageants.
The Miss Bonaire Organization provides training and access to young woman, to function as an ambassadress of Bonaire at huge grandslam pageants, with the goal to promote Bonaire's tourism industrie and give Bonaire exposure.
Since 2010 the Netherlands proclaimed that Bonaire is being Municipality of the Netherlands. The Miss Universe confirmed that Bonaire will only allow to compete at Miss Nederland and will not go to Miss Universe anymore. If the Miss Bonaire wins the Miss Nederland, she may welcome to compete at Miss Universe as "Miss Universe Netherlands".
In 2018 the Miss Bonaire confirmed to comeback at Miss World competition.
Since then the official winner of Miss Bonaire represented her country at the Miss Universe pageant. On occasion, when the winner does not qualify (due to age) for either contest, a runner-up is sent. In 1999 is the last representative of Bonaire at the pageant. Now, the winner may welcome to compete at Miss World competition.
