MTV Hits is a British pay television music channel from ViacomCBS Networks UK & Australia launched in 1 May 2001 replacing MTV Extra.

MTV Hits began broadcasting in widescreen on 28 March 2012.

MTV Hits plays chart hits non-stop. There are very few MTV shows on this channel, but there are many music-related themed zones (such as 'Urban Beats' and 'Spanking New Music'). The channel launched on May 1, 2001, replacing MTV Extra.

European versions

In 2014, MTV Hits, as well as MTV Rocks and MTV Dance started broadcasting European versions, without commercials or teleshopping. The channels have a Czech license.

On 17 November 2015, a French version of the channel was launched and the European version stops broadcasting in France, Switzerland and Belgium. This version replaced the French versions of MTV Base, MTV Pulse and MTV Idol.
