List of districts of Madhya Pradesh

The Indian State of Madhya Pradesh came into existence on 1 November, 1956. Madhya Pradesh has various regions but which have no official administrative governmental status but they are purely geographic regions; some correspond to historic countries, states or provinces. Currently, the number of districts in the state is 55.[1] These districts are grouped into ten administrative divisions. The regions and district in Madhya Pradesh is shown below. In 2000, the state broke up into two, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Then, later both the state has its own different government

Divisions and districts

There are total 55 districts in Madhya Pradesh divided in ten divisions.[2][3] A new district, Niwari, was created in October 2018 by partitioning Tikamgarh district.[1]. Niwari was declared the 52nd district in 1 October 2018.
