God (male deity)
This article is about the general concept of a being superior to humans that is worshiped as "a god". For the concept of a supreme "God" in the context of monotheism, see God. For God in specific religions, see Conceptions of God. For other uses of the term, see God (disambiguation).
A god is a male deity, in contrast with a goddess, a female deity. While the term "goddess" specifically refers to a female deity, the plural "gods" can be applied to deities collectively, regardless of gender. The Greek and Romanpantheons were ruled by Zeus, and Jupiter.[page needed]
