The Global Awards are held by Global and reward music played on British radio stations including Capital, Capital XTRA, Heart, Classic FM, Smooth, Radio X, LBC and Gold, with the awards categories reflecting the songs, artists, programmes and news aired on each station. Some of the world’s greatest artists will take to the stage to perform for fans and stars alike at the ceremony for one night only.

In December 2018, it was announced by Global would be bringing back its own national awards event in 2019 for a second year after the previous year debut. [1]

2018

The Global Awards ceremony was held on Thursday 1 March 2018 at London's Eventim Apollo.

It started at 7:30 pm. It was shown live on Capital TV and Heart TV. It was also available to watch on the Capital FM Website, on all the socials and on the radio. The Capital FM Global Awards radio schedule was as follows: Backstage on Capital Drive Time from 4pm GMT until 7pm GMT and then JJ, live from backstage from 7pm GMT chatting to the guests.[3]

Performances and special appearances from Sam Smith, Rita Ora, Kasabian, Martin Garrix, Andrea Bocelli and Liam Payne.[4]

Roman Kemp, Rochelle Humes and Myleene Klass hosted the ceremony.[5]

2019

The Global Awards 2019 with Very.co.uk will bring together all Global’s radio stations including Capital, Capital XTRA, Heart, Classic FM, Smooth, Radio X, Gold and LBC to celebrate the biggest and best-loved stars of music, news and entertainment on one huge night at London’s Eventim Apollo on March 7th. [6]

Performances and special appearances from Little Mix, Lang Lang, Blossoms, Anne-Marie, Mark Ronson and Mabel.[7]
