Brian Botting Prize for Figurative Drawing

This Prize was established in 2015 with a bequest following the death of Past Master Brian Botting.

Under the terms of the bequest, a prize of £5,000 is awarded annually to a young artist who is 30 years of age or under.

The winner of the first Brian Botting Prize for Figurative Drawing is Ema Pina for her painting of Bóbó .

Gordon Luton Award for Fine Art

This Prize of £2,000 is awarded to a Graduate or Postgraduate student in the fine art of painting to assist the winner to become commercially viable. The Company’s adjudicators select the winner from candidates exhibiting at the final year shows of the Royal College of Art, The Slade School of Fine Art and The Royal Academy Schools, on merit of work exhibited.

2014 Award

The 2014 winner was Marlene Steyne from the Royal College of Art.

There are also two Runners-up Prizes of £500 which were awarded to:

Photography Prize

This Prize of £1,000 is awarded to a final year student, selected by the Company’s Adjudicator, at the annual Royal College of Art Degree Show.

New English Art Club Prize

This Prize of £200 is awarded to an exhibitor at the Annual Exhibition of the New English Art Club, normally selected by the Master Painter.

Armed Forces Art Society Prize

This Prize of £100 is to be awarded at the Society's Annual Exhibition held at the Mall Galleries, London SW1. It is available only to serving members of HM Forces or their partners. The winner is selected by the President of the Society or the Company’s representative (normally the Master Painter)

2015 Winner

The Painter-Stainers’ Prize was awarded to Caroline De Peyrecave for her evocative portrait of her husband Major James Lyon, a medical doctor in the army.
