The goal of the Survivors of Three World Trade Center is to offer information about the hotel, the resources, and any other relevant information pertaining to September 11. The other goal is to provide a forum for personal communication between survivors, to share stories, and have a support system in place to continue the healing process. Ultimately, our mission revolves around increasing the strength and resiliency of the survivors of Three World Trade Center, many who suffer from lingering impact from the attacks on September 11th and to educate the public on the impact of terrorism and its aftermath.ââ¬Â .

On September 11, 2001, terrorists attacked the United States in New York, Pennsylvania and Washington DC. Almost 3000 people lost their lives in these attacks. In NYC, 4 buildings were classified as "completely destroyed" at the World Trade Center.
Buildings collapsed & destroyed:
- 1 World Trade Center - North Tower
- 2 World Trade Center - South Tower
- 3 World Trade Center - Marriott Hotel
- 7 World Trade Center - Securities & Exchange Commission, and other government/financial businesses
The focus from the media has primarily been on the destruction of the two gleaming twin towers of the World Trade Center. This site was created to provide a forum for the survivors and families of victims from the "forgotten" Marriott building which was also destroyed.
The Marriott Hotel at 3 World Trade Center was nestled between the twin towers and served as the mouth of a tunnel, a runway in and out of the burning towers for perhaps a thousand or more people.
No precise number of casualties for the Marriott exists, but according to The New York Times, it is estimated that over "50 people inside the hotel were killed.
At least 41 of those were firefighters, and the number could be much higher." Joseph Keller, the executive housekeeper and another Marriott employee, Abdu A. Malahi, perished in the attacks. As for guests, 11 of the 940 registered guests that day were "unaccounted for," said Cathy Duffy, a spokeswoman for Marriott. It is not known if they died in the building or were elsewhere in the complex. Family members have identified two guests who perished in the hotel. No remains of the people trapped in the lobby have ever been identified.
It is our goal to bring together the hundreds of individuals who were in the Marriott World Trade Center on Sept 11. We need a central location to share our unheard stories.
There are still many unanswered questions and hopefully, this website will help provide a place for all the Marriott survivors to gather together & help each other in the aftermath from that terrible day.
