- Tallest building in the World Financial Center complex.

- World headquarters of American Express, and Former world headquarters of Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc.

- Has a simular design to Cesar Pelli & Associates Architects later One Canada Square in London, completed in 1991.

- Closed after the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center until May 2002. Major structural damage was done to the Southeast corner of the building.

- Part of New York City's World Financial Center which includes four towers 34 - 51 stories high, with tenants such as Commerzbank, Deloitte & Touche, Merrill Lynch, and American Express.
