The Barrow mill employs over 400 people directly and around 150 indirectly in manufacture of Andrex, Kleenex tissues and a range of 'away form home' products. The mill is one of Kimberly-Clark's largest, and one of Europe's lowest production cost sites. In the 1990's over £50m of new investment occurred. In 2006 £13m was invested in new finishing lines.
