SLAYER To Visit U.S. Troops; U.S. Headlining Trek To Kick Off In January - Oct. 31, 2006 The members of the thrash metal band SLAYER will take a few hours off from their current European "Unholy Alliance Tour" schedule to pay a visit to the 52nd Services Squadron located on the Spangdahlem U.S. Air Force Base in Germany on Wednesday, November 8. With a sizeable chunk of SLAYER's core audience being enlisted men and women, this will be the band's first-ever visit to a military base.

The band, whose latest release, "Christ Illusion", deals with the brutality of war and religions fanaticism, scrutinizing America's role in Iraq and Afghanistan, will spend a couple of hours meeting and chatting with the soldiers, signing autographs, and possibly viewing a fighter aircraft or two.

Upon returning home just before Thanksgiving, SLAYER will take the holidays off and then launch a headlining tour of the U.S. Dates are still being confirmed and will be announced shortly, but the intended cities for the tour include:

Tucson, AZ
Las Vegas, NV
Los Angeles, CA
Sacramento, CA
Reno, NV
Salt Lake City, UT
Fargo, ND
Sioux Falls, SD
Kansas City, MO
Atlantic City, NJ
Providence, RI
New York, NY
Ottawa, ONT CANADA
London, ONT CANADA
Hamilton, ONT CANADA
Rochester, NY
Youngstown, OH
Columbus, OH
Indianapolis, IN
Myrtle Beach, SC
Orlando, FL
Ft. Lauderdale, FL
Washington, D.C.

As previously reported, Holland's FaceCulture interviewed SLAYER guitarist Kerry King just before their gig in Den Bosch, Holland. King spoke about the group's new album, "Christ Illusion", collecting and breeding snakes, the return of Dave Lombardo, METALLICA's "Master of Puppets" album, the "Some Kind of Monster" documentary, and the Big Four of thrash metal, among other topics. Watch the interview in three parts at this location.

SLAYER's video for the song "Eyes of the Insane" has been posted online exclusively at MP3.com.

SLAYER's "Christ Illusion" album, which debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard chart in August, has sold 127,000 copies in the United States since its Aug. 8 release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. It would have been awesome if they could have played a live show for the troops. At least they could give out some free cds. Listen to a Slayer album and it gets you pumped up for fighting that’s for damn sure!!

slayer are awesome but its the same damn album every single time. They've been stuck in the same style for so long that if they changed it up now every would have a teary. Metallica have been changing styles since the 80's so who give a crap if they wanna do some different and push themselves. Kerry wishes he could play rythym like Hetfield!

"Slayer will just make the same old garbage they always make. They won't sellout they'll just make crap in a different way. "

Make up your mind. Will they play the same stuff or make it a different way? Way to contradict yourself.

If anyone says their latest is the same as any of their last three, you apparently haven't heard it yet. Oh well, to each his own.

I love people like you trying to "get" me. It was a pretty simple post, I said they'll make shitty music in a DIFFERENT WAY in relation Metallica that I mentioned earlier in the post. IE they won't sellout but they will make the same cd over and over.

I'm pretty sure you're the only one who didn't comprehend that very easy point. There's no contradiction at all, just your own dim brain that functions on a very low level.

I love how there's always someone who chides Slayer for making the "same shit over and over". This happens with a lot of bands that tend to stick with a formula.

If they change, there's bitching.

If they stay the same, there's bitching.

That's metal, folks.

P.S. I like the new album.

Even if it took 4 years to honor the date again, thanks for keeping us in mind, guys.
