Humour is never oldfashioned

YLE sends Markus Kajo to Istanbul

Usually, YLE sends Maria Guzenina and Asko Murtomäki as commentators to the Eurovision Song Contest, but this year everything is different. Markus Kajo will accompany Asko Murtomäki. Kajo is known for his sarcastic humour. Markus also presented the previews on Finnish television. Referring to the comments on the YLE website, some Fins are afraid of his humour, some are pleased with the new touch for the Eurovision Song Contest. The discussion will probably go on for a while. Nevertheless, pay a visit to Kajo's website and enjoy his humour! advertiser linkOrder the official double CD album now, or order the official double DVD of the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest! The Official Fan Book, this year's programme book, is still available as well here (discount!!).

So the fact why Maria Guzenina isn't commenting this year:
She's takin part in Finnish Euro-election for the european parliament. In Finland there's this thing called "Celebrity-quarantine" for TV, so famous candidates wouldn't get too much attention carrying on their tv shows.
About five finnish celebs have been quaranteed from tv as long as the elections are over.
Guzenina was very sorry for not beeing able to participate with YLE this year. But as said, mr. Kajo will be more than excellent replacement.

not in Finland . Last year the team started talking while points were given ... Kajo can rise the interest here easily as we need it and badly .
Eurovision is a big party and in party there must be joy and humour .. Mr Kajo can do it . If you have doubts still - visit his marvellous homepage
absolutely fabulous

I prefer only one single commentator. If there is more than one, it's a risk they destroy the show by talking all the time. The female commentator for Swedish television in 2000 was terrible, she talked all the time.

YLE, good decision: comments about ESC without humour are boring. You must see (ear) the comments on FR3 since years: a beautiful scandal! I can'nt have a tape without them, hahaha...They are the must!

It is interesting news, and if anyone isn't interested in it, it is possible not to read it.
It reminds me of the one time Paul de Leeuw took the commentary seat in 1995. His flamboyant style (He wanted to hit Liora with a bible) caused it to be a one-off occasion, but I had great fun.
This year the Dutch comments are co-commented (is that a word) by someone who thought the Dutch national selection was good., so not holding my breath here.

Well any feedback is a good feedback , but may we refer to your style of acting , without knowing the facts in whole .

And any news - who get an reaction is a good news Then it has served it purpose to offer information , which may interest some . The purpose isn´t to please everyone , as that is impossible . And , if the news isn´t interesting in your opinion pls notice , that it is totally free to read it or skip it . And eurovision is a fun matter , try to remember that

This was written by me and added for Gossip departement and from there editor moved it to news . And what comes to the lenght of the story , the informative parts were cut off . Here in Esctoday.com is a clear way to work ... corresponders report and write , editors edit the story and as it usually is - the idea of the story may change .
Commentators are also part of the system and this is not just domestic matter as Mr Kajo is in Istanbul. If he would sit in studios at Pasila , then it would have absolutely no news value internationally .
So you are once again barking the wrong tree , but what do I know ( Woganism)

"We don't care about your commentators, really!" Dimi, in the Netherlands, the only person that may call herself "we" is the queen.

I don't agree with Dimi Vl. This site is full of information about topics concerning the ESC, including commentators. And rightly so, since they are part and parcel of Eurovision. If people write long comments every time Terry Wogan farts or the French ones have another sip of wine, why shouldn't we hear about the Finnish ones?

Dimi, I do not understand what is wrong with Martti's article. I regard it as interesting news. Terry Wogan has been discussed here often, why not the Finnish commentator ?

Martti, I understand that there are no important and significant Eurovision news at the moment, but I don't think it's a good idea to help the situation and fill the information vacuum with minor local news about sarcastic finnish commentator. We don't care about your commentators, really!
And, besides, you have one quality, which is not acceptable for good writing journalist: your long texts contain very little actual information, which is mixed with loads of absolutely unnecessary and nonsense sentences and phrases like "The discussion will probably go on for a while."...
It mostly relates to your comments to the different articles. Be more informative and less talkative, please. Express yourself shorter, o'k?
