Worshipful Company of Painter-Stainers

The Painter-Stainers’ Company is the fifth oldest of the 110 Livery Companies in the City of London and therefore has a long history closely connected to the development of the City. The Company, comprising fine and decorative artists,received its first Royal Charter from Queen Elizabeth in 1581 and today its energies are directed in the support of education in arts and crafts.

Hall Hire

Completed in 1961 Painters’ Hall combines the traditional elegance of a City Livery Hall with all the facilities expected of a modern building. It has three areas for meetings, dinners and other business functions. Each area has its own elegance and style and varies in capacity. It is the perfect venue for your event, combining unique art and valued heritage with the ideal location.

Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize

The Company are co-founders with the Lynn Foundation of this national Art Prize established in 2005. The Prize is also sponsored by 4C Hotel Group.

Charity and Education

The Painters’ Company Charities fulfils the Company’s objects in support of the education of fine and decorative artists.
