RTP has made the decision to broadcast all three shows of Eurovision 2016 after discussions with the European Broadcasting Union.
RTP had state in past weeks that they would not be broadcasting this years contest, the reasoning it emerged today was the cost of the rights to broadcast the contest. RTP’s decision to originally not broadcast the shows was taken as a result of the costs of broadcasting the Euro’s 2016 and the 2016 Olympics.
Daniel Deusdado added to DN.pt that Portugal is in principle participating in next years contest and is committed to redefining the Portuguese selection process Festival da Canção.
