Hangi Tavakoli (In Persian: فرهنگ توکلی); also known as Hangi; born as Farhang Tavakoli on 7 May 1990, Tehran, Iran) is an Iranian musician, record producer, composer, songwriter, music arranger and sound engineer. During his active years since 2004, he had produced over 800 published songs and written over 2000 published songs including some major international hits. His productions are mainly known for his orchestral Middle-Eastern-flavored instrumental film soundtracks, but he has also produced various pop and hip hop hit songs for other Iranian and international artists.
Hangi started music production by rapping as well as producing hip hop songs for Iranian artists inside Iran. Him and his musical activities were considered underground under Iranian law and this ended up being in one of Iranian most notorious political prosions named Evin. Iran's government had heavy control and filtering of the music scene at the time, and all these incidents led Hangi to leave Iran in 2011. He initially moved to Penang, Malaysia, where he stayed until 2014, when he moved to Singapore. Currently, he is running his record label, Flipside Productions, and producing songs for local Asian artists as well as making his own music.
During his active years since 2004, he was known as one of founders of Iranian hip-hop and has produced more than 800 released pieces as well as writing more than 2000 published songs and has collaborated with various international organizations such as UNESCO (music production and conducting the music band for "UNESCO PEACE ART EXHIBITION & WORKSHOP" in University Science Malaysia (USM) in 2012) and Iran's Fajr International Film Festival.
His newer productions are mainly towards instrumental music and soundtracks for movie and he managed to collaborate with a number of Iranian and international movie producers and directors.
