Paramount Pictures and China’s Huahua Media are teaming again to market a Paramount film in China, announcing Huahua’s deal today to invest in Allied, the Robert Zemeckis World War II romantic thriller starring Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard. The Chinese company will act as the lead China marketing partner and is the sole China investor on the pic, which opens in U.S. theaters November 23.

Last month, Huahua joined with Shanghai Film Group on a similar deal for Tom Cruise’s Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, which opens day-and-date in China and the U.S. on Friday.

Today’s deal follows similar tie-ups with Huahua on the Paramount’s Star Trek Beyond and Transformers: Age of Extinction. Paramount and Skydance’s Star Trek Beyond has grossed $62 million at the Middle Kingdom box office since its September 2 release there. Transfomers: Age of Extinction was the first film to cross the $300M box office milestone in China when it bowed there in 2014.

Allied, based on an original story by Steven Knight, follows intelligence officer Max Vatan (Pitt) and French Resistance fighter Marianne Beausejour (Cotillard), who fall in love during a dangerous mission behind enemy lines. The couple’s relationship is threatened by the pressures of war when they reunite in London. Jared Harris, Simon McBurney, Lizzy Caplan, Daniel Betts and Matthew Goode co-star.

The Paramount and GK Films pic is produced by Graham King, Steve Starkey and Zemeckis. Patrick McCormick, Knight, Denis O’Sullivan, Jack Rapke and Jacqueline Levine are exec producers.
